Quesnel Community and Economic Development Corporation Positions
The Quesnel Community and Economic Development Corporation (QCEDC) is seeking to fill an Assistant Economic Development Officer position.
The Assistant Economic Development Officer will report to the Economic Development Officer and will be responsible for aiding in community marketing, business retention/expansion/recruitment, research, grant applications and other tasks as assigned.
The ideal candidate will be innovative, have excellent communication skill and an interest in aiding in the ongoing betterment of Quesnel BC. Proven experience in economic development, business management, marketing and public administration along with formal education related to this position are all important.

The Quesnel Community and Economic Development Corporation is seeking individuals to provide administrative support, project research, project participation/planning and general assistance to the Quesnel Community and Economic Development Corporation and its partners for projects happening in Quesnel during 2010. The ideal candidates will be self-starters and possess strong organizational skills to ensure that project priorities and activities are completed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Stake holder meeting note taking and planning
- Research on economic sector opportunities for Quesnel
- Database development
- Workshop participation
- Committee participation/project assistance
- Event planning
- Establish, encourage and maintain positive, constructive and proactive relationships with partners; and
- All administrative functions assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Motivated, organized and ability to concurrently manage projects and initiatives;
- Detail-oriented; and
- Strong computer skills.
These positions are subject to funding through Service Canada Job Creation Partnership program. Candidates must be eligible for employment insurance (EI).
