Visit Quesnel

Welcome to the Cariboo!

For travelers, Quesnel is the Goldpan City, the gateway to the North Cariboo's exceptional visitor attractions and experiences.

For business travelers, Quesnel also offers a range of options for conferences and meetings.

The high points of North Cariboo attractions include:

  • Barkerville Historic Town: Western North America's largest historic site, the focal point of Canada's first great gold rush in the 1860s.  Barkerville Historic Town is also home to Canada's largest collection of Chinese artifacts.

  • Bowron Lakes Provincial Park: a chain of lakes that is one of the top wilderness canoeing routes on the planet.

  • The Grease Trail, now also known as the Alexander Mackenzie Heritage Trail: a trail thousands of years old on which First Nation guides led Alexander Mackenzie on the final leg of the first recorded crossing of the North American continent.

  • Billy Barker Days: one of BC's largest family festivals, every third weekend in July.

...and there are dozens of other things to see and do.
